You’ll need propane gas for your grill, but you already knew that. You just probably want to know what size to buy and where to purchase them for cheap. Here’s what I discovered…
Most RoadTrip Grills are designed to take the 16.4 canisters of propane fuel. From what I’ve seen and heard, Walmart is the best place to get them, and they only sell them in-store. You can get a 2-pack of 16.4 oz canisters for less than $6.
Amazon sells the same Coleman propane fuel canisters, but you’ll pay about 6 times as much ($9 for just one container). You probably don’t want to do that, spend more money I mean.
By the way, the cylinders are a universal size. They will fit all standard portable propane appliances, tabletop grills and propane torches, so if you have several of these items at home, it may be worth your while to stock up on bulk packages that save you money.
And yes, the smaller tanks cost more per pound than a much larger container, like a 20-lb tank. Thank said, they are much more convenient, lightweight and easier to carry. Furthermore, they make much more sense for smaller stoves and grills.
